How do I get a LSK practising certificate?
Login to your LSK account and while on the dashboard you will see a link to apply for the practicing certificate for the current year. An online form will open whereby you will fill in your practicing details and submit.
When should I renew my practising certificate?
You must renew by 30 June. If you don’t renew by 30 June, you will need to apply for a new practising certificate. You will incur a 200% surcharge on the practising certificate fee if you apply between 1 July and 30 September.
Do government lawyers need a practising certificate?

If you fail to complete the renewal process by Friday 30 April 2021, you will no longer appear on the Barristers’ Register and will not be authorised to practise. It is a criminal offence under the Legal Services Act 2007 to carry on any reserved legal activities without a practising certificate.
