What is the arctic enema?
For those who don’t know what the Arctic Enema is, Tough Mudder describe this as ‘TM’s O-Degree Dumpster of Daze”! It is an industrial sized dumpster filled with ice cold water and The Ice Co ice cubes with a wooden divider that Mudders must swim under – the long way.
How deep is the water at Tough Mudder?

The obstacle is a 3 foot deep pit of water, which is around 12m long and 6m wide and contains 3 huge pipes. No you won’t be crawling through them, instead you’ll have to take a deep breath and fully submerge yourself in the water to move underneath each pipe.
Do you have to be able to swim to do Tough Mudder?
YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE ALL THE OBSTACLES If you are severely claustrophobic and can’t swim, don’t be a hero and attempt a water obstacle where you’ll be confined to tight spaces. On the other hand, if you can’t physically complete an obstacle, you can always ask your teammates or other Mudders for some assistance.
