Our co-founders, Eric McKay and Patrick Murtaugh, were introduced at a young age through the friendship of their parents.

History. Hardywood Park Craft Brewery was founded by Eric McKay and Patrick Murtaugh on October, 2011. 100% of the brewery’s electricity comes from renewable energy sources (wind, biomass and solar) via the Dominion Green Power program.
Does hardywood brewery serve food?
We do not operate full-service restaurants out of our taprooms. We do put a lot of energy into making sure food trucks and/or light snacks are available for our guests. Guests are also permitted to bring light snacks and order food for delivery.
Is hardywood West Creek dog friendly?
Outdoor games, including swings, bocce, and cornhole, will not be permitted. Leashed dogs are welcome in our outdoor spaces.
Does Starr Hill Brewery serve food?
They do not serve food but you may bring your own. They even have a couple of menus that you can call in a delivery order from if you would like.
Does hardywood have nonalcoholic beer?
Do you serve cider, wine, non-alcoholic beer or gluten-free beer? We are working towards having West Creek Cider available in all of our taprooms year-round, but cannot currently promise its availability. While West Creek Cider is made without gluten, it is made in a facility that produces gluten.

Born in a Charlottesville music hall in 1999, Starr Hill Brewery was founded out of a passion for great beer and live music. Among the most award-winning craft breweries on the East Coast, Starr Hill has won 24 Great American Beer Festival, World Beer Cup and Great British Beer Festival medals.
