They are the same caliber, just different case capacity and muzzle velocity. If you want more velocity, and you don’t mind more recoil, the 7mmremmag is an excellent choice. If you want less recoil, and a lighter rifle, the 7mm-08 may be a better choice for you. Only accurate guns are interesting.

Which is better the 7mm or the LRM?
Recoil is only a small increase over the 7mm Mag with 168 (23.6 versus 27.4 with the LRM). We see the 180’s at 3085 to 3100 fps at 75 rounds. The neck is longer, and with a 180 seated to fit a std mag box, the boat tail just barely enters the case. Advantage over the Dakota is std Mag bolt face.

The case is almost identical to the 7mm Dakota. Case capacity is also very similar to the 7 STW. You don’t hear anyone saying their 7 STW duplicates 7 RUM performance. IMO the 7mm-375 Ruger IS a cartridge that should be built and offered by Ruger/Hornady.
