Are libraries closing in San Diego?

Are San Diego libraries taking donations?

The San Diego Public Library provides a number of regular, branch, monthly, and special book sales. Below is the general information about our book sales to the public. The Library is not accepting donations at this time.

Any person living in the state is eligible for a free library card. The San Diego County Library consists of 33 branches, two bookmobiles, and two 24/7 Library to Go kiosks….San Diego County Library.

How do you find a library book online?

Go to the Online Library Catalog by clicking on the link provided. Alternatively, you can use the search box on the Find Books & EBooks page. Locate the search box and using the dropdown provided, choose whether you would like to search for books and eBooks by keyword, author, title, etc.

Can you return library books to any branch San Diego?

Books checked out from San Diego Public Library locations can be returned to the Central library or any of our branch locations. These items will be routed to the correct library with a slip indicating the date returned. Items will remain on your account until the owning library receives and checks them in.

Can I donate books to my local library?

Your local library can provide acceptable donation guidelines. Most public libraries in the United States accept gift books with the proviso that the library is free to decide whether to keep the book in the library’s collection, put it in a book sale to raise funds for the library, or discard it.

How do I get a San Diego County library card?

Apply for a library card online. Bring a valid photo ID and proof of current address with you to pick up your library card at any San Diego Public Library locations. By applying for a library card you agree to the San Diego Public Library’s Lending Policies. Parental Permission Form to any library location.

Is there any free online library?

Yes, there are some online libraries where you can borrow for free such as Open Library, JSTOR, OverDrive, Google Books, Amazon Books, Scribd etc.

Do library cards work anywhere?

Yep, you can get a library card for ebooks, audiobooks, magazines, music, movies, & even online classes from libraries nowhere near you! Some libraries offer these cards for free while others charge an annual fee on a per person or per household basis.
