How do you use RIT tinte powder?
Powder dye should be pre-dissolved in two cups of hot water and then added to machine. Mix well to evenly distribute the dye. Wet fabric and place item(s) in the washing machine. If dyeing natural fibers like cotton or linen, add one cup of salt to the dyebath.
Does Rit dye fixative work?
This is for the DYE FIXATIVE: it works amazingly well. Usually, things dyed in Rit fade very quickly in the wash. But with this stuff they fade much, much more slowly.

It really depends on the desired shade and fabric. To achieve the color on the box or bottle, we suggest 30 to 60 minutes with continuous stirring. For lighter shades, we suggest 10 to 20 minutes.
