When is the Atlanta Zoo open in Atlanta?
Hours and General Information Zoo Atlanta is open all year long, closed only on Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have transitioned to a timed ticketing system to limit the number of guests inside the Zoo at any given time. Weekday hours are 9 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Is the zoo in Atlanta worth the drive?
We visit zoos on our travels and Zoo Atlanta is one of the best zoos we have ever visited. In fact, this is the third time we travelled back to Zoo Atlanta. Its well worth the 8+ hour drive to see pandas! The zoo is very well laid out and the habitats provide great viewing areas to see the animals as natural as possible in captivity.
